Spain aim to top Group A at the U21 EURO
Cristhian Mosquera, César Tárrega, Javi Guerra and Diego López target victory against Italy
Back when Kevin Gameiro plied his trade in Ligue 1, LOSC Lille were on the receiving end of some six goals from the striker. Valencia CF's next opponents in the Champions League are favoured foes of the man from Senlis, who has only scored more times against one other club (Sporting Gijon, with seven goals).
Gameiro has described his previous encounters with Lille as "open and with many goals," but there is one in particular that holds a special place in his heart.
Just over a decade ago, at the start of the 2009/10 Ligue 1 season, Gameiro's FC Lorient took a 1-2 win away from home against Lille on August 9th. Gameiro was on the scoresheet, finding the net for the first time since the birth of his son, Aaron, that July. His header, in his club's first official match of the campaign, had a special dedication to his newborn child.
Gameiro has played against 'Les Dogues' on eleven occasions, including at both of their most recent stadiums: The Nord Lille Métropole and the Pierre Mauroy. It will be at the latter that he looks to increase his goal tally yet further against Valencia CF's Group H rivals.
